Softball Recap: Central Comes Up Short

Central managed to slip by Hollidaysburg the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Dragons came up short against the Golden Tigers on Wednesday, falling 11-4.

Kailyn Gahagan put in work while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over four innings pitched. Gahagan was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs and two doubles. Those doubles were her first of the season.

Gahagan wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was McKenna Smith, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.

Central's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Hollidaysburg, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 3-4 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Central will host Everett at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Hollidaysburg, they will welcome Bellefonte at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
