Baseball Game Preview: South Knox Spartans vs. Shakamak Lakers

The South Knox Spartans will square off against the Shakamak Lakers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

South Knox took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 7-4 victory over North Knox.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Shakamak). Their pitchers stepped up to hand White River Valley a 22-0 shutout on Wednesday. Winning may never get old, but the Lakers sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Shakamak's win bumped their record up to 11-7. As for South Knox, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-15 record this season.

South Knox took their victory against Shakamak when the teams last played back in May of 2023 by a conclusive 8-0 score. Will the Spartans repeat their success, or do the Lakers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
