Basketball Recap: Litchfield's Win Ends Three-Game Losing Streak at Home

On Monday, the Litchfield Purple Panthers earned a 55-47 win over the Shelbyville Rams.

When it comes to explaining why Shelbyville lost, don't look at Kenzie Jones. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten boards. That was a full 40.4% of Shelbyville's points, marking the tenth time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rylee Nichols, who put up six points.

Litchfield's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-12. As for Shelbyville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-11.

Litchfield will challenge Carlinville at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Shelbyville, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 71-37 defeat against Nokomis on the 15th.
