Basketball Recap: Community Christian Piles Up the Points Against Jacksonville Christian Academy

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Community Christian). They took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging an 84-14 victory over the Jacksonville Christian Academy Conquerors. The win continues a trend for the Cyclones in their matchups with the Conquerors: they've now won four in a row.

Community Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tyler Spivey, who shot 89% from the field en route to 18 points and six steals. Evan Gattis was another key player, going 8-for-18 to rack up 18 points and five assists.

Community Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds every time they've taken the court this season.

Community Christian's record now sits at 3-1. As for Jacksonville Christian Academy, they dropped their record down to 0-2 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Community Christian has already played their next matchup, a 64-32 victory against Christ Covenant on the 24th. As for Jacksonville Christian Academy, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Pitt County P at 5:30 p.m. on December 2.
