Softball Recap: Philomath Comes Up Short

Philomath was the 12-0 winner over North Marion when they last played one another back in May of 2025, but their luck changed this time around. The Warriors lost 19-2 to the Huskies on Wednesday. The Warriors' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row.

Philomath saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rylee Martin, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run.

Philomath's record now sits at 6-6. As for North Marion, their win ended a 15-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-11.

Coming up, Philomath will face off against Sweet Home at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for North Marion, they will take on Cascade at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Huskies' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cougars have averaged an impressive 7 runs per game this season.
