Tolman dropped their record down to 7-2 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They lost 8-2 to the Scituate Spartans. The game marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

As for Scituate, they now have a winning record of 6-5. The game was the first time they have beaten Tolman on their field since April 14, 2017.

For Scituate's part, Travis Howman was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits (and not a single walk). Scituate is 5-1 when Howman allows one or fewer earned runs, but 1-4 otherwise. Howman was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Howman wasn't the only one making solid contact as seven players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Paul Zolkos, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI Zolkos has posted since April 2nd.

Coming up, Tolman will face off against Woonsocket at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Villa Novans will roll in looking for their 13th straight win, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Scituate, they are taking a road trip to challenge Times Squared Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Spartans are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a ten-game losing streak.
