Softball Game Preview: Notre Dame Regents vs. Jefferson Grizzlies

The Notre Dame Regents are taking a road trip to square off against the Jefferson Grizzlies at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Notre Dame will be strutting in after a victory while Jefferson will be coming in after a defeat.

Notre Dame is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Castilleja on Friday as Notre Dame made off with a 17-6 win. The Regents haven't had any issues with the Gators recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Cru Malate-Wells was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, one run, and one double. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kamille Beals, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Notre Dame always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .528. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Castilleja only posted an OBP of .375.

Meanwhile, Jefferson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 18th straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against Mercy, falling 30-0.

Jefferson's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Notre Dame, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
