Recap: Genesee Wolves vs. International Academy Phoenix
The Genesee Wolves won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Friday. They suffered a rough 68-47 defeat at the hands of International Academy. Genesee was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as International Academy apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Loss or not, Genesee got some senior leadership from Aiden Croak and Connor Rouse. Croak dropped a double-double on 17 points and 14 rebounds, while Rouse. scored 17 points along with two steals. Croak continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played.
Genesee's defeat dropped their record down to 3-12. As for International Academy, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Genesee will stay at home for another game and welcome Morrice at 7:30 p.m. on February 13th. Morrice is coming into the contest with seven straight losses on the road, meaning Genesee will have to defend against a team hungry for a victory. As for International Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against New Standard Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in New Standard Academy's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four matches.
