Volleyball Recap: Upper Arlington Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Upper Arlington, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Hilliard Davidson Wildcats 3-2 on Tuesday. This was payback for the Golden Bears, who suffered a 3-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

Upper Arlington took Hilliard Davidson into a fifth set where they got it done with a ten-point win. The match finished with set scores of 15-25, 25-13, 25-27, 25-20, 15-5.

Asha Chaudhari had an outrageously good game as she had 25 digs and seven aces. Those seven aces gave her a new career-high. Katie Sexton was another key player, getting eight digs and three aces.

They weren't the only good servers: Upper Arlington was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 20 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 11 consecutive matchups.

Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lydia Dougherty, who had 14 digs and two aces. Another player making a difference was Maggie Ray, who had 18 assists and three digs.

Upper Arlington moved to 13-4 with that win, which also ended their three-match losing streak. As for Hilliard Davidson, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-14.

Upper Arlington has already played their next match, a 3-2 victory against Hilliard Bradley on the 25th. As for Hilliard Davidson, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Olentangy Orange on the 25th.
