Basketball Recap: Fort Lupton Extends Road Winning Streak to 13

Fort Lupton won the last time they faced Platte Canyon and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Fort Lupton Bluedevils blew past the Platte Canyon Huskies, posting a 77-30 win. Given the Bluedevils' advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 61st, while the Huskies are ranked 240th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Fort Lupton was led to victory by Javon Gonzales and Isaiah Garcia. Gonzales almost dropped a double-double on 25 points and nine steals, while Garcia almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine assists. That's the most steals Gonzales has posted since back in February of 2024. Guillaume Nkiadiambu was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds.

Fort Lupton smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Fort Lupton pushed their record up to 10-4 with the victory, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.2 points per game. As for Platte Canyon, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.

Fort Lupton didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, an 89-49 win against Lake County on the 30th. Platte Canyon has also already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Jefferson on the 30th.
