Baseball Game Preview: Lake Park Lancers vs. Wheaton-Warrenville South Tigers

For the second straight game, Lake Park will face off against Wheaton-Warrenville South. The Lancers will be playing at home against the Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Lake Park and Wheaton-Warrenville South, and Wheaton-Warrenville South kept the tradition alive. The Lancers fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 4-3 on Thursday.

For Wheaton-Warrenville South's part, Ryne Adler spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on five hits.

On the hitting side, Reece Franks was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Caleb Mease, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Wheaton-Warrenville South pushed their record up to 12-12 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Lake Park, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-12.
