Softball Recap: West Florida Extends Winning Streak to Three

It's playoff time, and West Florida had no trouble coming through when it counted. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Yulee Hornets on Tuesday, sneaking past 2-1. That's two games straight that the Jaguars have won by just one run.

Abby Cogdill spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on six hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Leianna Wagner was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one double. Courtney Bradley was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

The win (which was West Florida's third in a row) raised their record to 15-12. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Yulee, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-10.

As of now, neither West Florida nor the Hornets have any future games scheduled.
