Isle of Wight Academy let Wyatt King and Jason Chapman run wild. King got on base in four of his six plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base, while Chapman went 3-for-5 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Those two doubles gave Chapman a new career-high. Reed Rogers was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Greenbrier Christian Academy faced Cox in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Gators took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Falcons. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Gators couldn't push the score so high this time.
Tyson Moravec was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Watson, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.
Greenbrier Christian Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 20-4 record this season. As for Isle of Wight Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 10-5.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Isle of Wight Academy has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Greenbrier Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
