Soccer Game Preview: Valwood vs. Central Fellowship Christian Academy

The Valwood Valiants will venture away from home to face off against the Central Fellowship Christian Academy Lancers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Valwood's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

While Valwood's win against Southland Academy wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Valiants' defense stepped up to hand the Raiders a 1-0 shutout last Thursday. The victory continues a trend for Valwood in their matchups with Southland Academy: they've now won nine in a row.

Meanwhile, Central Fellowship Christian Academy came tearing into last Friday's contest with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5 goals), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Eagles. It was an even better day for Morgan Riley as she scored four goals for her team.

Central Fellowship Christian Academy pushed their record up to 9-1-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 20 goals over those three matches. As for Valwood, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Valwood beat Central Fellowship Christian Academy 3-1 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Valiants since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
