Basketball Recap: Burney Takes a Loss

Burney played a tough game on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by the Redding Christian Lions 74-23. The Raiders were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-11.

Despite the loss, Burney saw an underclassman step up: sophomore James Fields posted 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyle Noah, who earned four points.

Burney dropped their record down to 7-14 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Redding Christian, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 24-3.

Burney wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 53-22 loss against Los Molinos on the 12th. As for Redding Christian, they are taking a road trip to face off against Chester at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
