Baseball Recap: Citrus Snaps Three-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Citrus won the last time they faced Trinity Catholic and things went their way on Thursday too. The Hurricanes came out on top against the Celtics by a score of 6-2. The game was the first time the Hurricanes have beaten the Celtics on their field since February 17, 2021.

Trae Hopkins was excellent, scoring a run while going 1-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three).

Citrus' win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-12. As for Trinity Catholic, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-15 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Citrus will venture away from home to challenge Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Hurricanes are facing the Bears at the right time seeing as the Bears are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Trinity Catholic, they will head out on the road to square off against Bishop Snyder at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cardinals will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Celtics surely won't give up without a fight.
