Basketball Game Preview: Puckett Wolves vs. Hazlehurst Indians

The Puckett Wolves will take on the Hazlehurst Indians at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Puckett's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four games.

In Friday's Canine Competition, Puckett had to take the L. They were just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 61-60 to Enterprise.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hazlehurst). They blew past Enterprise 75-49 on Thursday. While the Indians didn't have the best season last year (they finished 12-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Puckett better keep an eye on Jakavion Johnson. He was instrumental in Hazlehurst's win, putting up 32 points. The contest was Johnson's fourth in a row with at least 21 points. Another player making a difference was Brayden Murray, who posted 15 points.

Hazlehurst is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.0 points over those games. As for Puckett, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.

Puckett couldn't quite finish off Hazlehurst in their previous matchup last Thursday and fell 63-61. Can the Wolves avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
