Football Preview: Syracuse Titans vs. Herriman Mustangs        
        
		
                                                         The Syracuse Titans will venture away from home to  take on the Herriman Mustangs  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
 Last Friday, Syracuse lost to Brighton at home  by a   35-21 margin.
 Although Syracuse took the loss, they still got scores from  Hoyt Pula,  Tanner Merrill, and  Xander Garcia.  Ledger Wight was another key player, throwing for 212 yards and two touchdowns.
 Syracuse didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of  Kaleb Hall and  Garcia.
 Meanwhile, Herriman was just a  hair shy of victory  on Friday and fell  22-21 to Green Valley. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states  (they are ranked 42nd in Utah, while the Gators are ranked sixth in Nevada).
 Despite their  defeat, Herriman saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays.  Yama Ta?Ai, who picked up 46 receiving yards and a touchdown, and also rushed for 80 yards on only ten carries, was perhaps the best of all. Ta?Ai's longest rush was for an impressive 54 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.
 Even if they lost, Herriman's defense still kept up the pressure with four sacks. Leading the way was  Kemper Castro and his two. Herriman got some further help from  Braxton Hatch: he made eight total tackles and defended a pass in addition to snagging  two  interceptions.
 Syracuse's record is now 0-2. As for Herriman, their record now sits at 0-2.
 Syracuse beat Herriman 21-10  when the teams last played  back in August of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Syracuse since the  team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
