Softball Recap: Tuesday's Loss Ends Caruthers' Winning Streak

Caruthers dropped their record down to 13-10 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's six-game streak of wins. They fell 4-1 to the Liberty Hawks. The Blue Raiders were red-hot at the plate heading into the contest (they scored no less than ten runs in the six games prior), but the Hawks' pitcher proved too tough.

As for Liberty, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.9 runs over those games.

For Liberty's part, Macie Webster spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up 12 Ks. With that strong performance, Webster is now averaging an impressive 5 strikeouts per game.

At the plate, Ari Aguayo was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and two runs. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April. Macey Cox was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one double.

As of now, neither Caruthers nor Liberty have any future games scheduled.
