Preview: New London vs. English Valleys
English Valleys had trouble last Friday, and unfortunately for them, their opponent this week is a big step up in difficulty. They will be playing at home against New London at at 7:00 PM on Friday. English Valleys strut in flaunting some offensive muscle with an average of 50 points per game.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 0-46, which was the final score in English Valleys's tilt against H-L-V. The state rankings had actually given English Valleys a slight edge heading into the game, making this hurt that much more.
Meanwhile, New London faced Iowa Valley in a battle between two of the state's top teams. New London took a 12-22 hit to the loss column at the hands of Iowa Valley. New London's defeat signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.
With both teams hitting sour notes in their previous games, they will no doubt be looking to produce a better outcome in this one. We'll see which team satisfies their hunger and which team leaves with an empty stomach.
