Preview: Boone Braves vs. Olympia Titans
The Boone Braves will be playing at home against the Olympia Titans at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Olympia took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Boone, who comes in off a win.
Boone had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 34 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They came out on top against Wildwood by a score of 60-51.
Boone's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mckenna Murphy, who scored 25 points along with four steals. That makes it six consecutive games in which Murphy has scored at least 25% of Boone's points. Danika Ballard was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Meanwhile, Olympia was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Monday as they fell 43-37 to Lake Nona.
Olympia's loss came about despite a quality game from Arlinda Roundtree, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. The contest was Roundtree's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Pazos, who scored eight points along with five steals.
Boone's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Olympia, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Boone hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 51.7 points per game. It's a different story for Olympia, though, as they've been averaging only 42.4 points per game. The only thing between Boone and another offensive beatdown is Olympia. Will they be able to keep them contained?
Boone was able to grind out a solid win over Olympia in their previous matchup back in January, winning 47-36. Does Boone have another victory up their sleeve, or will Olympia turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
