Softball Recap: Southwestern Comes Up Short

Southwestern fell victim to Brown County and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 1-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Rebels of the 5-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Southwestern saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lilly Fox, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Southwestern's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Brown County, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-10.

Coming up, Southwestern will face off against Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Warriors will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Rebels surely won't give up without a fight. As for Brown County, they will square off against Greencastle at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
