Softball Recap: Monday's Victory Is Ottumwa's Sixth in Last Eight Outings

Ottumwa put their dominant pitchers on display in the team's fourth consecutive shutout on Monday. They never let the Des Moines North Polar Bears get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by nine runs or more this season.

Ottumwa is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Des Moines North, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Ottumwa has already played their next game, an 8-6 loss against Van Meter on the 10th. As for Des Moines North, they will square off against Roosevelt at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
