After both having extra time off, the Natomas Nighthawks and the John Adams Academy Rsvl/Lin Patriots will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Natomas is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.

Natomas barely beat Rio Linda the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Nighthawks put the hurt on the Knights with a sharp 3-0 victory on Wednesday.

While Natomas won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-19, 25-23.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for John Adams Academy Rsvl/Lin, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They came out on top against Sierra Academy of Expeditionary Learning by a score of 3-1 on Thursday. The win continues a trend for the Patriots in their matchups with the Fire Wolves: they've now won four in a row.

The victory didn't come easy: Sierra Academy of Expeditionary Learning scored at least 18 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 21-25, 25-20, 25-18.

Natomas' record now sits at 14-7. As for John Adams Academy Rsvl/Lin, they pushed their record up to 22-4 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home.
