Malad proved they can win big last Wednesday (they won by 12) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 win over the Grangeville Bulldogs. For the Dragons, this counts as revenge for the 8-7 victory the Bulldogs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.
The team relied heavily on Carter Blaisdell, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Ethan Horsley also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
Malad's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Grangeville, the loss snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 6-5 record.
Looking ahead, Malad will take on Glenns Ferry in a tournament on Friday. The Dragons' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Pilots have averaged an impressive 9.2 runs per game this season.
