Basketball Game Preview: Santa Rosa Panthers vs. Analy Tigers

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Santa Rosa Panthers duke it out with the Analy Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday... The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Santa Rosa has four straight victories, Analy has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Last Wednesday, Santa Rosa escaped with a win against Windsor by the margin of a single free throw, 29-28.

It was another big night for Arlo Mischke, who posted 13 points and eight rebounds. He has been hot, having posted eight or more rebounds the last six times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kai Callender, who put up seven points and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, Analy suffered their biggest loss since December 12, 2024 on Wednesday. They came up short against Montgomery, falling 57-31. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 865th, while the Vikings are ranked 235th).

Analy's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Santa Rosa, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.

Santa Rosa beat Analy 64-53 in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. Does Santa Rosa have another victory up their sleeve, or will Analy turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
