Basketball Recap: Twin Lakes Takes a Loss

Twin Lakes saw some tournament action on Friday. They came up short against the Munster Mustangs, falling 59-36. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 322nd, while the Mustangs are ranked 129th).

When it comes to explaining why Twin Lakes lost, don't look at Kaitlyn Lipps. Despite the final result, she posted nine points and seven boards. Those nine points gave Lipps a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jasmine West, who had 14 points.

It was another big night for Nina Garner, who went 10 of 19 on her way to 21 points for Munster. Garner's evening made it five games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Igboamaka Odeluga, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds.

This is the second loss in a row for Twin Lakes and nudges their season record down to 3-11. As for Munster, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 8-4.

Twin Lakes didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 68-31 loss against Mt. Vernon on the 28th. As for Munster, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 52-46 defeat against McCutcheon on the 28th.
