Chris Corpuz and Keith Turner provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Patterson. The connection was good for 88 yards, the longest such play in Western this season.
Los Banos moved up to 159 from 219 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Tigers climbed the ranks as a result of beating the Tigers 48-12.
Los Banos' dynamic duo of Corpuz and Turner proved tough for Patterson to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Corpuz threw for 305 yards and seven touchdowns and Turner had 169 yards receiving. Daeton West helped Los Banos' passing attack out by catching five balls for 85 yards.
Juan Zuniga was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 141 yards on eight carries as Livingston topped Nick Marchy's team. Teammate Luis Santacruz added to the ground attack by rushing for 109 yards.
Thanks to the talents of Corpuz and James Sams the Tigers have been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Corpuz leads the league in passing with 1390 yards, while Sams has rushed for 1211 yards this season. Ceres's Caden Johnson leads the league in receiving yards with 700 on 56 catches.
A big matchup in Western this week will be when Central Valley takes on Los Banos. As it stands, the Hawks are in fifth, while the Tigers are in first.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Central Valley takes on Los Banos. Jason McCloskey's team has allowed 122 points this season, while the Tigers have given up 135. The Hawks allowed 30 points last week as they lost to Pacheco.
Central Catholic was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fifth to third in the league.
