Newton Local has gone 7-2 against Franklin Monroe recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Indians will be playing in front of their home fans against the Jets at 5:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Newton Local has four straight victories, Franklin Monroe has six straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Newton Local had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 12-run drubbing they dealt Troy Christian on Wednesday. The Indians never let the Eagles get on the board and left with a 12-0 win. Considering the Indians have won four contests by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Franklin Monroe fell victim to Tri-County North and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Panthers, falling 21-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Jets have suffered against the Panthers since May 2, 2018.

Newton Local pushed their record up to 7-3 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Franklin Monroe, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.

Newton Local was able to grind out a solid victory over Franklin Monroe in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, winning 7-2. Do the Indians have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Jets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
