Recap: Somerset Sky Pointe Eagles vs. Lake Mead Academy Eagles
The Somerset Sky Pointe Eagles pushed their score all the way to 62 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 72-62 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lake Mead Academy.
Despite the loss, Somerset Sky Pointe saw an underclassman step up: Emmitt Bell scored 19 points. The game was Bell's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Cory Gory, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds.
Somerset Sky Pointe's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Lake Mead Academy, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-2.
Somerset Sky Pointe will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Enterprise at 5:30 p.m. on December 28, 2023. Enterprise is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 59.8 points per game. Lake Mead Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Needles at 9:30 a.m. on December 29, 2023.
