Basketball Game Preview: Lake Worth Trojans vs. Santaluces Chiefs

Lake Worth is 2-8 against Santaluces since February of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Lake Worth Trojans will challenge the Santaluces Chiefs at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Lake Worth is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They enjoyed a cozy 46-27 victory over Leonard back in December of 2024. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Trojans.

Lake Worth can attribute much of their success to Jocilynne Sweeney, who dropped a triple-double on 18 points, 11 boards, and ten steals, and Milan Smith, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds. Smith is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Gracy Joseph, who posted eight points and nine rebounds.

Lake Worth was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Santaluces narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Palm Beach Central 50-48.

The victory got Lake Worth back to even at 3-3. As for Santaluces, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.
