Softball Recap: Folsom Bulldogs vs. Laguna Creek Cardinals
Folsom was the 7-6 winner over Laguna Creek when they last played one another back in March of 2017, but their luck changed this time around. The Bulldogs took a 12-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cardinals on Monday.
Shay Sacay and Faith Best stepped up to the plate in a big way. Sacay went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs, while Best went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Khloe Clark, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.
Folsom's defeat dropped their record down to 9-7-2. As for Laguna Creek, their win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 8-8.
Folsom and Laguna Creek could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. The Bulldogs will challenge Rocklin at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank disadvantage (143 vs. 14). Meanwhile, Laguna Creek (ranked 352nd) will meet Yuba City (ranked 174th) at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
