Soccer Recap: Bath County Takes a Loss

Bath County came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 6-0 to the James River Knights. While losing is never fun, Bath County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 281st, while James River are ranked 113th).

Bath County's loss dropped their record down to 5-9-2. As for James River, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5-1 record this season.

Bath County will welcome Bland County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Bath County will be up against Bland County's rather soft defense (which has allowed 3.07 goals per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for James River, they didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Radford on the 26th.
