Softball Recap: Hoover Triumphs

Hoover had lost three games at home, but after bumping their record up to 6-4 on Friday that streak is in the rearview. They won by a run and slipped past the Jasper Vikings 9-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Buccaneers have posted since April 19, 2025.

As for Jasper, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-8. That's two games in a row now that they have lost by just one run.

For Jasper's part, they saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emersyn Haney, who went 1-for-2 with two runs. Aniyah Dickerson also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Coming up, Hoover will challenge Bob Jones at 11:15 a.m. on Saturday. As for Jasper, they will square off against Huntsville at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
