Football Recap: Kimberly Skates Past Layton Christian Academy with Ease + How To Watch

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Fruitland, Kimberly was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They blew past the Layton Christian Academy Eagles, posting a 38-8 victory. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Bulldogs considering their 13-point performance the matchup before.

Joe Barrett was a one-man wrecking crew as he picked up 128 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Those three receiving touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Liam Browning also deserves a mention for his punt return touchdown.

Kimberly didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Layton Christian Academy to a completion percentage of just 35.3%. The Bulldogs weren't nearly as limited: they posted one of 64.7%.

Special teams also played a big role in the game for Kimberly, adding 14 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Browning, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

The win got Kimberly back to even at 1-1. As for Layton Christian Academy, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Coming up, Kimberly will square off against Snake River at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Bulldogs' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Layton Christian Academy, they will face off against Dixie at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
