Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Kaylee Scoggins and Anabelle Penland Lead Lafayette to Victory

LaFayette won the last time they faced Pickens and things went their way on Thursday too. The Ramblers came out on top against the Dragons by a score of 2-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Ramblers.

LaFayette was led to victory by Anabelle Penland and Kaylee Scoggins. Penland had five aces and four digs, while Scoggins had seven digs and two aces. Those five aces gave Penland a new career-high.

They weren't the only good server: LaFayette was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in ten consecutive contests dating back to last season.

LaFayette's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Pickens, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

LaFayette wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Rome on the 12th. As for Pickens, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Sonoraville on the 7th.
