The Marathon Red Raiders will head out on the road to challenge the Edgar Wildcats at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Marathon is coming into the game hot, having won their last seven games.
On Saturday, Marathon beat Iola-Scandinavia 10-5.
Quillan Kunkle made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, earning one RBI and two runs.

In other batting news, Drew Woelfel was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was True Thurs, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Marathon hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least two batters in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Edgar came up short against Mosinee on Monday and fell 9-6. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Indians recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
Ashur Brodhagen was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. He has become a key player for Edgar: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least three hits, but 2-6 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Sawyer Weiland, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
Edgar's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Marathon, their record now sits at 14-3.
Marathon skirted past Edgar 5-3 in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Red Raiders since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
