The Wiggins Tigers will venture away from home to take on the Liberty Common Eagles at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Wiggins is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.

On Tuesday, Wiggins didn't have quite enough to beat Highland and fell 2-1.

Alex Tarango spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Wiggins saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carston Johnson, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Liberty Common was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against Fort Morgan, falling 9-1.

Wiggins' loss dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Liberty Common, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-11.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. Wiggins has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Liberty Common struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Wiggins was able to grind out a solid win over Liberty Common in their previous meeting back in April of 2019, winning 4-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
