Baseball Game Preview: Jupiter Christian Eagles vs. King's Academy Lions

Jupiter Christian is 1-6 against King's Academy since February of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Jupiter Christian Eagles will venture away from home to challenge the King's Academy Lions at 6:30 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Thursday.

On Tuesday, Jupiter Christian got the win against Somerset Academy - Canyons by a conclusive 14-7. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Logan Fisher looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He is becoming a predictor of Jupiter Christian's success: when he allows at most one hit the team is undefeated (and 2-4 when he doesn't).

At the plate, Troy Spano was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing Three bases. while going 4-for-6. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Winters, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Jupiter Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, everything went King's Academy's way against Indian Rocks Christian on Tuesday as King's Academy made off with a 10-4 win. Considering the Lions have won five games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

King's Academy is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. Jupiter Christian now has a winning record of 5-4.

Jupiter Christian couldn't quite get it done against King's Academy when the teams last played back in February of 2024 as they fell 6-2. Can Jupiter Christian avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
