Wren had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.8 goals) and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was the Wren Hurricanes who were credited with the win. The Wren Hurricanes got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to the Emerald Vikings's one. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-0 last Tuesday.

Wren's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Emerald, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wren will square off against Walhalla at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Walhalla is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 2.6 goals per game this season. Emerald will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Greer at 7:45 p.m. on March 31st.
