Football Recap: Demopolis Snaps Three-Game Streak of Wins on the Road + How To Watch

Demopolis dropped to 6-4 on Thursday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins on the road. They received a blow as they fell 23-7 to the Wetumpka Indians. The Tigers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Indians from their previous meeting back in November of 2024.

Jw McAlpine threw for 77 yards on 11 of 26 attempts. Carlow James was his top target, picking up 69 receiving yards. On the ground, JAMARCUS DAVIS rushed for 91 yards.

As for Wetumpka, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 35.2 points over those games.

Wetumpka found their leader in sophomore Charles Skipper, who threw for 126 yards and two TDs, and also rushed for 45 yards. Skipper's passing game has become a key predictor of the Indians' success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-4 otherwise.

Demopolis and Wetumpka are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Tigers will challenge Elmore County at 7:00 p.m. on the 7th. The Panthers' defense has only allowed 14.6 points per game this season, so Demopolis' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Wetumpka, they will take on Saraland at 7:00 p.m. on the 7th. The Indians will need to watch out since the Spartans have now posted at least 31 points in their last three matchups.
