Softball Recap: Lafayette Falls Short of East Central in the Playoffs

Lafayette and East Central squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Lafayette had to settle for second. They lost 10-3 to the Hornets. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Commodores, who until this game were averaging 2.58 runs allowed.

Lafayette saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mabry Eason, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Lafayette's defeat dropped their record down to 27-9. As for East Central, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 23 of their last 26 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 29-7 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: East Central beat Lafayette by a score of 10-6 on Wednesday.
