Basketball Recap: Emmetsburg Piles Up the Points Against Alta-Aurelia

Emmetsburg won the last time they faced Alta-Aurelia and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Emmetsburg E'Hawks claimed a resounding 77-44 victory over the Alta-Aurelia Warriors. Given the E'Hawks' advantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 76th, while the Warriors are ranked 326th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The win made it two in a row for Emmetsburg and bumps their season record up to 14-4. As for Alta-Aurelia, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-16 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Emmetsburg will head out to face off against Storm Lake St. Mary at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Emmetsburg is facing Storm Lake St. Mary at the right time seeing as Storm Lake St. Mary is stuck on a 19-game losing streak. As for Alta-Aurelia, they are taking a road trip to challenge Newell-Fonda at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
