Softball Recap: MAST Community Charter Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

MAST Community Charter barely beat Calvary Christian Academy the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Panthers put the hurt on the Cougars with a sharp 11-0 victory on Tuesday. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Not much got past Rylie Fitzsimmons, who gave up just two hits and racked up ten Ks to keep Calvary Christian Academy off the board. Fitzsimmons has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Catherine Ewald, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Jennings, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

MAST Community Charter always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .552. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Calvary Christian Academy only posted an OBP of .125.

MAST Community Charter's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-2. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Calvary Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. MAST Community Charter will host Faith Christian Academy at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Calvary Christian Academy, they will face off against Morrisville at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
