Softball Recap: Elsinore Has No Trouble Against San Jacinto

Elsinore's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. Everything went their way against San Jacinto as they made off with a 9-3 win. Elsinore might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by six runs or more this season.

Breann Lipold made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off one hit. Those 11 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Eva Tafoya, who went 3-for-4 with two runs. Another player making a difference was Jaycee Hullar, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Elsinore kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as San Jacinto only managed two hits.

Elsinore has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for San Jacinto, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 13 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season.

Elsinore has already played their next match, a 4-3 win against Tahquitz on the 2nd. As for San Jacinto, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 9-3 loss against Lakeside on the 2nd.
