Baseball Game Preview: South Newton Rebels vs. Tri-County Cavaliers

For the second straight game, South Newton will face off against Tri-County. The Rebels will challenge the Cavaliers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. South Newton has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with 18 straight defeats, while Tri-County will come in with three straight victories.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for South Newton's offense. They came up short against Tri-County on Tuesday, falling 17-0.

For Tri-County's part, Tyler Burns was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. That triple marked the first that Burns has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Luke Arvin, who went 1-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Tri-County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in May of 2024.

South Newton's loss dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Tri-County, their win bumped their record up to 8-2.
