Basketball Recap: Central Jersey College Prep Takes a Loss

Central Jersey College Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 79-66 to the Warren Hills Regional Blue Streaks. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against Central Jersey College Prep this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 74-51 back in December of 2024.

Despite the defeat, Central Jersey College Prep saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Carter Staton went 6 of 11 from beyond the arc on his way to 30 points and three steals. The contest was Staton's 13th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Lyfe Lockhart, who posted eight points.

Central Jersey College Prep's loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Warren Hills Regional, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-6.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing College Achieve Central the next time they take the court. Warren Hills Regional will head out to face College Achieve Central at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, while Central Jersey College Prep will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
