Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only North Reading walked away with it. They didn't even let the Medfield Warriors on the board on Monday, marking their second-straight 8-0 shutout. The Hornets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matches by eight runs or more this season.

The victory made it two in a row for North Reading and bumps their season record up to 17-4. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 0 runs in those games. As for Medfield, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-10.

Coming up, North Reading will challenge Weston on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Hornets 3.1, the Wildcats 3) so any runs scored will be well earned. Medfield does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
