Baseball Recap: Triopia Trojans vs. Rushville-Industry Rockets
Triopia extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 0-3 in the process. They lost 11-4 to the Rushville-Industry Rockets. The Trojans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rockets apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2016.
As for Rushville-Industry, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-9 record this season. They not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since April 8th (when they won 11-1).
For Rushville-Industry's part, Macon Kessler was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Kessler has become a key player for the Rockets: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 4-9 otherwise. Jackson Spencer was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Triopia will take on New Berlin/Franklin/Waverly at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Rushville-Industry, they will square off against Monmouth United at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
