Basketball Game Preview: Ashbrook Greenwave vs. Stuart W. Cramer Storm

Ashbrook and Stuart W. Cramer are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2021, but not for long. The Ashbrook Greenwave will venture away from home to challenge the Stuart W. Cramer Storm at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Ashbrook comes in on five and Stuart W. Cramer on eight.

Ashbrook can't be too worried about heading out to take on Stuart W. Cramer: they just beat Huss at home, who had been dominant on their own court up to that point. Ashbrook walked away with a 47-39 victory over Huss on Friday. The win was all the more spectacular given the Greenwave's disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 229th, while the Huskies are ranked 99th).

Ashbrook's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jakyra Sadler, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 13 assists. Sadler has become a key player for Ashbrook: the team is 4-1 when she posts at least ten assists, but 7-10 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Duraejah Hardin, who posted 12 points.

Meanwhile, you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Stuart W. Cramer on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew Forestview out of the water with a 79-45 final score. The Storm have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Ashbrook better keep an eye on Oshauna Holland. She was instrumental in Stuart W. Cramer's win, going 15-for-31 en route to 36 points along with eight boards and seven assists. Holland is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in each of the last 54 games she's played dating back to last season. Hadley Womack was another key player, going 5-for-11 on her way to 15 points.

Stuart W. Cramer pushed their record up to 22-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 33 points. As for Ashbrook, the victory got them back to even at 11-11.

Ashbrook was dealt a bruising 64-32 loss at the hands of Stuart W. Cramer in their previous matchup back in January. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Ashbrook was down 35-11.
